Travelzoo Launches First TV Campaign in Europe #TravelzooFeeling

Travelzoo, the UK's top travel and entertainment deals provider, will launch its first television advertising campaign in the UK on 21 June, using the creative concept of the 'Travelzoo Feeling'*. The ad will also run in Germany, launching on 18 June.

Travelzoo has steadily grown its UK member base to over 4m through online marketing channels and this is the first commitment to television. The 'Travelzoo Feeling' television ad will run across daytime and primetime advertising slots on a mix of UK terrestrial and digital TV channels.

Glyn Owen, Travelzoo's head of marketing in the UK said, "The 'Travelzoo Feeling' is about the moments of joy our members get when they experience a Travelzoo deal and their holiday completely exceeds their expectations. It's about the notion of true success on holiday – getting a top-notch experience at an unbeatable price.

"In our advertisement this is shown through our two main characters whose inner feeling of joy bursts out into animalistic exuberance that is spontaneous, unselfconscious, joyful and impossible to keep in."

Travelzoo worked with Big Al's Creative Emporium to develop the campaign and with Park Village to shoot the advertisement. MNC were appointed as the media buying agency.

The director of the advertisement is Remy Cayuela, a young comedy director from Paris who has won a string of awards, most notably last year's Young Director Award (Music Video) at Cannes Lions.

The voiceover artist is John Lloyd, an award-winning British television producer and writer, best known for his work on iconic UK comedy shows such as Blackadder, QI and Spitting Image.

The UK ad will premiere on 21 June during the premiere of True Detective Series 2.

Travelzoo will also run a social media campaign until the end of July using #TravelzooFeeling – participants can submit a photo or video of themselves that captures their 'Travelzoo Feeling', and the best entry will be awarded any Top 20 deal.

Definition of the Travelzoo Feeling:

The feeling you get when you all your holiday plans come together perfectly. The whole experience exceeds your expectations and better still, you know that you got it all for an unbelievably good price.

The feeling is so strong you feel compelled to physically express this moment of joy. It's your own personal holiday victory dance that cannot be contained, and comes out in a spontaneous, unselfconscious explosion of totally joyful silliness.
