Gabe Saglie, Senior Editor

Travelzoo’s Senior Editor, Gabe Saglie, is a leading expert on travel deals, tips and trends. He has appeared on dozens of highly-rated networks, including NBC, CNN and Fox News, as well as affiliate stations in top TV markets around the country, including New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas and San Francisco. Gabe is also regularly quoted in major publications, like the New York Times, Boston Globe and US News and World Report and writes a regular destinations column for ABC News Travel. He’s a longtime wine and food writer, too.

Gabe is a Chilean native born in Norway to globetrotting parents. He has traveled to more than 20 countries and is fluent in Spanish, French and English. Gabe’s travel experiences allow him to be one of the industry’s foremost consumer travel advocates.

Mike Stitt, President, Travelzoo North America

In the past 12 years, Mike has held various leadership positions at Travelzoo in editorial, commercial, product and innovation areas. He was most recently Senior Vice President, overseeing local and entertainment categories, publishing and product planning in North America.

In 2010, Mike launched Travelzoo Local Deals, formally marking the company’s entry into the restaurant, spa, activity and entertainment space. Today the business operates in more than 100 markets in 11 countries, having recently celebrated its 10 millionth experience milestone and 92% approval ratings. Under his direction, Travelzoo Local Deals quickly grew into a $100 million (gross, annualized) business working with high-profile names such as Emeril Lagasse, Gordon Ramsay, Bliss Spas, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, Le Cordon Bleu and The Ritz-Carlton.

Jonathan Jones, Executive Producer and Top 20 Expert

Executive Producer, Jonathan Jones is a leading expert on travel deals, tips and trends. During his 8 years at Travelzoo, Jonathan has worked on a myriad of projects, including publishing the Top 20 since November 2010. Prior to his time at Travelzoo, Jonathan lead the Chicago marketing team for Ticketmaster.

Jonathan has traveled to 16 countries, but his favorite by far is Argentina. Buenos Aires is his favorite city as he has a very different experience every time he goes.

Besides traveling, Jonathan is on the board of a non-profit in Atlanta whose mission is to serve underprivileged children by providing essential school supplies in July and toys & gift cards in December.

Lisa Oswald, SVP Global Customer Service

Lisa P. Oswald is Senior Vice President of customer service at Travelzoo and leads a global portfolio including customer and client services, product operations and voice of the customer programs in support of Travelzoo’s 28 million members across the globe. She has received numerous awards including Customer Service Executive of the Year by American Business Awards and Excellent Customer Service by British Travel Awards—twice! Lisa is a Director of the Society of Consumer Affairs Professionals (SOCAP), the leading professional development association for the customer care industry; she was elected to its National Board in 2017. She is also a passionate advocate for leaders learning from leaders through her Advisory Board role with Execs In The Know.

When she’s not working, she’s in the studio making art as a monotype artist. She brings together her love of art and her community by serving as a Commissioner of the Arts in her hometown of Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.

 Tara Kraft, Head of Publishing

Tara Kraft joined Travelzoo as Head of Publishing in Summer 2017. Prior to joining Travelzoo, Kraft served as the Editorial Director of SHAPE, Fit Pregnancy and Natural Health magazines. Before her move to editorial, Kraft was in beauty public relations. She served as Vice President of Beauty at Siren Public Relations, where she oversaw more than 30 beauty accounts. 

Kraft holds a B.A. in English from Siena College and currently resides in New York City. She is a mom of a toddler, who was born abroad in London, England, where she lived from 2014 to 2015. Motherhood has changed Tara’s life in many ways (for the better!). One thing will never change though: Tara is a beauty and fashion girl at heart--complete with a Net-a-Porter shopping habit!

On the bucket list: Sailing the Greek islands and San Ysidro Ranch

I always pack: Soft socks and cashmere shawl for the plane--the shawl doubles as a blanket!

 


Lara Barlow, General Manager, Travelzoo Canada

Travelzoo Canada’s General Manager, Lara Barlow, is a leading expert on travel deals, tips and trends. Prior to her time at Travelzoo, Lara spent 10 years at the Toronto Star, where she worked closely with the travel, entertainment, packaged goods and special sections.

Lara is the first member of her family to be born in Canada, her mother is from Spain and her father is from England, so she considers them a typical Toronto family. Lara has traveled to over 30 countries but some of her favorite spots are Turkey, India, Buenos Aires, Spain and, of course, Canada (specifically Lake Louise).

On the bucket list: Iguazu Falls

Susan Catto, Head of Publishing, Canada

Head of Publishing, Susan Catto joined the Travelzoo team in 2016. Prior, Susan was Deputy Editor of Hello! Canada magazine and was a regular contributor to the Travel section of the New York Times (including the Practical Traveler column) and the business travel blog of the Economist.

Besides her passion for travel, Susan also loves bodysurfing! One of her favorite vacations to date was bodysurfing at Brennecke’s Beach, Kauai. Other standout trips include canoeing in Algonquin Park, Ontario and her first trip to New York City as a teenager.

Fun fact: Susan’s South African father and American mother met on an airplane over Cambodia!
